Last week Danielle called and we both came to the conclusion that we were too busy for anything. If one of us had more time I'm sure we could make something work out, but we are both too busy, on almost completely opposite days for anything, so we are remaining friends. I'm still planning on attending College Church Group though, that will be a lot of fun. Anyways, on the same subject sort of, I went to an awesome party with some of the pep band at UCI. It was a lot of fun, the one who was hosting the party (John Carnes) has what he calls a kegerator, which is basically a refrigerator with 3 taps running out of the front. I really enjoyed the root beer (as well as a little guiness, heh). So, I met somebody at this party, her name is Kenessa (a very kuhl and pretty uniqe name), and I'm again interested in seeing what happens (deja vu?). Just to keep people in the loop, so that nobody gets confused or anything. So, this week I'm home alone, my parents are on vacation in Sedona, Arizona. It's kind of funny, I don't even know what they're doing while they're out there, I'll have to ask when they get back. So, I'm thinking of a lan party sometime, probably friday, depending on how I feel the hw is coming along. So, anyways, it's 1:20 in the morning now and I should head to bed so I'm ready for band tomorrow night (and hw during the day, heheh).

A blog for Tim

Here ya go Tim, I'm at work and blogging. So, the haunted house was awesome!!! I was in the back woods using a chainsaw (without the chain) to scare people back along our second path out of the maze. I even got a snickers and tootsie roll from a random kid who said I was the scariest thing in the maze, congratulations to me, lol. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately now I'm insanely busy with trying to do 5 million things at once. Let's see, there's band, Tim's church group, work, and oh, let's not forget the biggest thing... DEMO REEL! So yea, it's coming along, I'm still not sure if i'll actually graduate or not, it's up in the air. I still have a ways to go. I guess I'll find out in 4 weeks, oi......break....... I just took a little break to pick some scabs with an xacto knife, heh. So, I guess I'll go into a little more info about me life recently. I met Danielle recently in the college group at Tim's church while we created the Haunted House. She's quite energetic, and has an awesome personality. I'm really interested in seeing where things go so hopefully I can keep people updated as it progresses. This saturday night I'll be playing for the UCI pep band at a game. That should be a lot of fun. OH, and some good news: E3 is back... in a way. It's now going to be called the GamePro Expo (kinda stupid name, but oh well)!!! Lol, I can't believe I forgot to mention it, I recently got an Xbox 360, it's a really fun console, right now I only have 2 games, Dead Rising, and Burnout: Revenge. Hoping to get more later, probably after this quarter. I can't wait for the next Castlevania DS game, I preordered it and will receive an awesome pack with a bunch of free stuff, like a castlevania series art book, special stylus, and soundtrack, wii. Well, I've been avoiding work for a while now, time to get back to it. Later everybody!

Excellent Vids

Awesome!!! Ready? School, work, work review, band practice, lakehills church haunted house planning, more work and school, knott's scary farm. Yea, been pretty busy. So anyways, went to Knott's last night, it was a lot of fun, only pretty crowded. Other than that though it was a blast. We made it to almost all of the haunted houses, just missed Hatchet High and the Mine Train. But we've been on those before so we were over it. We hit up a few of the rides, but didn't make it to all of the good ones. Main one I was unhappy we missed was La Revolucion, we'll just have to make sure to do that again next time we go. They had a couple new haunted houses as well, they were The Grudge (based on the movie) and a Laser Tag one, which was pretty fun. So yea, I guess that's about it for now, I'll be back later.

Soooooo Trippy!!!!

This is awesome!!!!

Gooooood Movies

Oh yeeeaaaaa, I just watched Han shoot first! That's right, I stopped by Circuit City to pay a bill and just had to pick up the new Star Wars DVD's. They have both the Special Edition and Original Theatrical Release videos. It's soooooooo kuhl. I forgot about all of the awesome stuff that was in the originals. Anyways, I couldn't finish it, too tired, so I'll have to do that some other time. Unfortunately I'm still tired. I'll probably be heading to bed early tonight since I have my first class at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Until then I'll watch some movies, TV, or play some games. Anyways, I just thought I'd put another blog up since I haven't been here in so long. Kinda trying to make up for that fact. So on the way home today I stopped by GameStop and picked up two new Nintendo DS games. I've got the Ninja Turtles game and Burnout Ledgends (racing). Should be a couple of fun games for downtime. I need to make sure and beat the first Castlevania DS game before the second one comes out in December. Doing pretty well on it right now, during the break I completely finished the GameBoy Advance Castlevania double pack. That was pretty fun, the DS game takes place right after the GameBoy one in the story. Lunch was good today, went to the awesome pizza place, I like their slices, kinda like a New York Pizza slice.

I still can't believe I'm in my last quarter of school. It's gonna be awesome if I graduate, I really can't wait. I'll have so much time on my hands, sorta. I'll be lookin for a good gaming job after that of course. I wonder what my first project will be. Although I guess I'm already working on the cell phone game right now. That's still coming along, we're getting close to finished with the artwork. Once that's finished the programming can be finished and then it'll be ready for playtesting and then it can be sold to a cell phone company.

Oh, a little side note, I recently traded my previously white mouse for my personal computer at home for a black mouse from work. Now my whole computer is matching, black tower, black monitor, black keyboard, black joystick, and black mouse, woot. I also have my black Nintnedo DS Lite to go along with it. I just hope that this isn't a trick. That way I can get a black 360 as well. The only thing left is a black Wii, which is supposedly only coming out in white at first. I hope that by the time I'm ready to buy one that they are selling in black or someone has made a black mod for it. Nonetheless it's going to be an awesome system. Darrin is already preordering a bunch of games as well as the system itself for release day.

So now I'm off to go watch some TV or something. Wiiiiii.

Small Break

Well hello again. I know I haven't been here in a long time (bad). Last week was my one week break from school. I'm now currently in my first week of my last quarter (hopefully). I've got classes on Tuesday Morning (Senior Project II), and Saturday morning (Portfolio II). I'm kinda nervous about that last class. That's the one that decides if I actually graduate. I've made it far and now it seems I need to start working my ass off. I still need to create some more 3d models and artwork for my demo reel. I don't believe I'm going to be doing a lot of extra fun stuff this quarter, just a lot of work.

But anyways, how about I dive into what I did last week on my break... I know I played a lot of games, heh. Thursday night Darrin and I went to UCI and joined their pep band with Sam (who currently attends UCI). It sounds like a lot of fun, and the funniest thing is that bandos are extactly like they were in High School. It should be pretty good, just have to remember the notes again.

This past weekend I went up to my Uncle's house in Monrovia (near Pasadena) and hung out with my cousins. We pretty much just played games all weekend, it was nice and relaxing. Any time we took a break was just to eat and sleep, the rest of the time we were focusing on whatever was on the screen at the time.

Now I'm back at work trying to look busy. I realized the other day that my D-land pass wasn't blocked anymore so I need to go sometime. I'll probably see when Sam is planning to go next, maybe it'll be with some of the band people too. Well, I better get back to "work". I'll be sure to post as much as possible, no promises though because of this being a busy quarter and all. I'll also try to do a little more blogging tonight. See yas.

Mooooore Pics

Wiiii, I just got my second Star Tours picture matted and framed. I was really lookin forward to this and it turned out awesome. (He ordered it from Hong Kong and it took a little while before they got it in stock). It's an awesome figure of Ayane (my character) from Dead or Alive (of course she's originally from the game Ninja Gaiden). I'll be getting some pics up as soon as possible over on Flickr. The detail is really good, they have folds in the cloth and everything. I really like it.

Well, another awesome suprise showed itself this morning. Across from the Taco Bell near my work is an office building which is almost completed. So on the way to work this morning I notice the pretty multicolored sign which is now displaying from the top of the building. It seems that Google is moving it's Irvine operations into the offices there. Google is awesome, just had to share that. Oh, and I hope to remember the camera tomorrow so I can get a pic or two for Flickr as well.

Tonight I went bowling with Tim, Darrin, Sam, Marie, and a few people from UCI that Sam knows. All in all it was pretty fun. We got to bowl before they officially opened up the lanes while a bunch of leage players were practicing I suppose. Afterwards we sorta just hung out, played some air hockey and then eventually left and headed over to In-N-Out for some shakes (water for myself). They are doing some construction on El Toro Road and they have a whole bunch of the flashing small road blocks in a tight group together. They looked really kuhl flashing away, almost like... a disco or something.

Finals are coming up (next week) so I will probably be going silent for a while again. I can't wait for school to be over, uhg. Oh, and Sept. 28th (I think) we all will hopefully be going to Knott's Scary Farm as always. It's the first day which is a good thing, that means it will be less crowded so we can get through most of the Haunted Houses and rides. The employees are also a little more enthusiastic on the first night as well. That will be a lot of fun! I guess that's about it for now.

Here I Am

Wiiii, I'm blogging in beta. I haven't been here in a while, and I have a good reason. Well, it's sort of a bad reason, but luckily it's fixed now. I actually forgot about my blog, lol. Kinda funny. Well, luckily I remembered about it while I was at work today and decided to come here to write a little about something I guess, heh.

So yea, this last weekend was a nice four days off. Class on Saturday went fast. Then I got a bunch of stuff done afterwards and met a really nice person at In-N-Out in Foothill Ranch. So I think I'm gonna go back this Saturday and see if she is working again. There is also a fun party comin up for this Saturday which should be exciting. Sunday we had a LAN party at me house. It was very nice to play some computer games again. Makes me hope for one of our big LANs soon though. And then Monday I had good breakfast at Denny's and then watched a movie, and then went over to Sam's grandparent's for a BBQ. It was really good. The best part was that they have a pool in their backyard so we were able to cool off in this extremely hot weather.

Speaking of the weather, I hope it gets cooler soon, I'm not diggin the heat at all. (Thought switch) I don't know if everyone has heard, but the Crocodile Hunter died. Kinda sad, he was awesome. I think they said that the stingray which stung him hit the heart, dang. I remember the first thing I saw him on, he was letting the most poisonous snake crawl around in his shirt. He'll be missed by many.

I suppose that's good enough for now, I shall not forget again. Goodbye everybody.

Summer almost over?

Wow, I guess summer is almost over. My sister is already back at her dorm room and I guess school will be starting up soon for a bunch of people.

So I was thinking about this and realized that I haven't really been on vacation this summer. I usually go to Yosemite each summer with family, but this time it didn't work out because I was starting my first class on Monday, when I would usually get back. So unfortunately I couldn't make it.

Next year I'm hoping to go on a road trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We should see the awesome glass bridge, as long as it's finished by then. Unfortunately that's still a whole year away. I wonder if anyone would be up for something at the end of this school quarter. The problem is that everyone I know already went on a vacation. And most people will be in school again by then. Seeing as how it'd be lame to go somewhere by myself I guess I'm kinda stuck. Oh well, there's always next year (as Uncle Owen stated).

On to more stuffs, school is going well, already finished my final for 3D Scripting, lol. And we got the project today too, that was awesome. I registered for my last quarter (had to do it with my academic director) and she said congratulations. I really can't believe next quarter will be my last... hopefully. Demo reel, demo reel, demo reel. Gotta do some more work on that. It's going to be a compilation of works, and I already have some stuff completed from previous classes, I just need to polish them up a bit and then add a some more stuff. I only have two classes next quarter so I'll have plenty of time to work on it.

Today was fun, had a good dinner and watched Open Range for my dad's b-day. Tomorrow I've just got homework planned. If I get it done I'll probably find something to do tomorrow evening. Well, I'm kinda tired, so I'm off. Lata all.

Woo!

Yessss, I just finished 1/2 of my Castlevania GBA cartridge. The cartridge is actually two games in one so in actuality I finished a whole Castlevania game, Harmony of Dissonance. It was really fun. So now I can start on the second game, Aria of Sorrow. I'm thinking about getting the new Castlevania games made specifically for the DS as well. It will be fun using the touchscreen with whatever ingenious ideas they came up with.

While I'm on the same track, I was looking through the DS games listed on IGN and realized that I should start a checklist with all of the games that I'd like to get sometime in the future. Hopefully that will help me prioritize which ones I'd like to get first and so on, etc. I'm kinda crazy like that, some things I have complete organization for, and others I don't. I guess it just comes down to what I feel is more important at the time.

Ok, so it was my Mom's B-Day a while back and this Saturday is my Dad's B-day, so my sis and I are going to get them a combined gift. I did make a great card for her though (I like making my own, cheaper, and more fun). So I took some funny pictures of her and put her face into a picture of Emperor Palpatine and Yoda from Star Wars, they looked hilarious. I can't wait to do something similar for my dad with another genre. Maybe a western or call of duty kind of thing.

Speaking of my Dad's b-day, all of the people at work wanted to get him a customized Easy Button from Staples. Darrin bought one of his own a while back and put a small recording device with a speaker keychain into an Easy Button so it could say whatever he wanted (which happened to be "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time") So for my dad I came up with a great sound clip idea. He really likes Clint Eastwood movies so we've got a recording of him saying, "Go Ahead, Make My Day". I can't wait to see the look on his face when he presses it.

Well, now it's late, and I'm tired, so I'm outta here, lata.

OMG, THE SNAKES!!!

What an awesome movie!!!! It was pretty much the loudest group of moviegoers that I had ever been with before. Practically everyone was making comments and going crazy, it was great. The movie was also really good, waaaaaaay better than I thought it would be. It actually had a story around the whole snakes on a plane thing. There were some very awesome parts, some very disgusting parts, and some very funny parts! It was all in all a very good movie. Of course I can't give that much away, you gotta go see the crazy thing for yourself! (or rent it someday, lol) Yea, it was hilarious. So yea, if you get the chance, definitly see the MFin Snakes on the MFin Plane! And that's about all for that. Tomorrow I've got work, school, and then catching the tail end of a board gaming party over at Darrin's. Apparently there will be a gaggle of people there. Should be fun, I guess we're gonna play Trivial Pursuit 90's Edition, and probably Apples to Apples. I'm sure they'll play more stuff, but most likely while I'm at school till about 9:30, but with any luck I'll get out early or something like that. So yea, after that it will be Saturday, which means a full day of stuff. Sam and Darrin are going to go get a bonfire pit in the wiiii hours of the morning and stay at the beach until closing. I was thinking about probably heading over to help set up, then going to school from like 12:30 to 2:30 and then heading back for the rest of the day. Should be pretty fun. And for Sunday I have a day of homework planned, we'll see how that goes. Anyways, that's about all I can write for now, again, don't forget to see SNAKES ON A PLANE, lol! Yea, Oaktree out.

Siiiigh, Relaxed!

Well, I feel better. I just finished a week of midterms, quite hectic. I missed some work because I had to stay home and get a bunch of school work done. I probably could have gotten it all done if I worked on it every hour of every night, but I'm soooo tired after work that I don't have that much energy left to do it. I also find that I'm very much more productive in the morning than at night, which helped a lot these past few weeks. Anyways, to make a long story short, I finished my midterms and was pretty happy with the results. If I had more time of course there were some things that I would change, but there's always something that can be improved with everything, some more than others, lol (government, cough cough). Oh well, I can't complain at the moment, I'm feeling pretty good and relaxed. Just spent the afternoon at Darrin's with Darrin and Sam. We had a lot of fun playing some games, Halo, PGR3, Trivial Pursuit, Mario Kart DD, Pillow Fort, and Dead Rising Demo. I've been wanting to try Dead Rising for a while now so it was a lot of fun. If I had a 360 I believe I would be in line on release day to buy myself a copy. Unfortunately I don't have the mula to be getting that right now. For those of you who don't know it's a really fun zombie game where you are a photo journalist trapped in a mall and get to use a plethora of mall items to attack the zomies, it's really great. I beat them with a hand for a while, used a knife, shotgun, store sign, threw books at them, and started putting masks on their heads and was about to take a picture until I got killed. Some of the interesting things Sam used included a Frying Pan, Soda Cans, and a Shopping Cart!! Darrin used a good ol golf club and found out that we could eat pies to regain health. It was a lot of fun. Well, on to my other exciting news (which I can't believe it's been this long since I posted), but I got my Black Nintendo DS Lite!!! It's a lot of fun, I only have a few games at the moment, but the wireless multiplayer is really great for lunches. Darrin has a White one so we can play against each other at work. Speaking of work, it's going well, whenever I'm there, lol. School is algo going well, I guess I'll see my midterm grades sometime next week. I guess that just about covers it for now, hopefully I'll have more time to update in the future, but no promises, sorry. For now I'm off to bed to get ready for tomorrow, which happens to be my Mom's B-day, wiiiii. I like the little schedule and event notifier on my phone, it reminded me of this information. So yea, I'll be back!

Fun + Fun = Fun

So, I'm back again, woo hoo. This weekend was pretty fun. Friday I went over to a friends and hung out all night watching movies and drinking some fun stuff. Woke up the next morning and headed to school for my easy 3D Scripting class. It was once again a short class, which is good. That evening I went to a birthday party for some family. Had a pretty good time, ate burgers, had cake, and played some games. The best time was yesterday evening though. In the morning I did some work for school, but around 3 I headed over to Darrin's to get ready to go to a concert at the House of Blues San Diego. Went with Darrin, Sam, Adam, and Marianna. We all packed into my car and headed down at about 5:30. We got down there and went through an In-N-Out drive thru for dinner. Once we had our food we drove into downtown San Diego and parked in an awesome parking garage that went up and up and up in circles, heh heh. Eventually we made it into the HOB and only missed a little bit of the first band's performance. It was ok though because they were the first of two band's who were opening. The second band that opened was a really good Ska band, Darrin is going to find out who they were and get some of their music. Well, eventually the real show started. The first band was MXPX. Then we had a little intermission for some water and rest. And the second and last band was Reel Big Fish. So yea, overall it was a really fun night. On the way home we stopped at the 7-11 by Darrin's house for some drink and late night food. Went home, and now I'm here this morning to do some of my hw. Now today is another great day, just because I got something AWESOME in the mail. Today at 9:30 I recieved my package from Hong Kong with the very pretty black Nintendo DS Lite!! I will definitly be putting some pics up on Flickr for all to see, so enjoy! Well, that's about it for now, time to get back to working. Tomorrow will be fun, I'll be playing games at lunch with Darrin for sure. So yea, that's about it, lata!

Wow, I'm Here!

Hey everybody, I know it's been a while, but I've been extermely busy lately. I don't even know how I got the time to come here to write this. It will most likely be a little short, but I'll try to dive into what's been going on for the past while. Let's see, school and work are taking up a lot of time now. I'm going to skip whatever happened in-between last post and go right up to Friday. After school I went over to a really fun pirate party with a bunch of people. Darrin was all crazy lookin in a full on pirate costume, lol. I improvised with some homefound free stuff. To make a long story short, it was crazy, and I don't remember the latter half of the evening. But before that it was awesome, and I was told that the rest was awesome too, lol. So yea, that brings me to Saturday, went to school at 12:30 and got out early about 2 hrs into class, woo hoo (usually 4 hr long classes). Went home and relaxed, then went to see Pirates again with some family and friends. Afterwards I watched the little bit of lightning that came through and had a early sleep time. Sunday was a little bad on my part, I slacked waaaaaay too much and ended up having to stay home from work today to get some of my hw done for the classes that I had today. I did get it done which is a good thing, just need to edit a few of the 3D models. So yea, been very busy as I mentioned earlier. And of course I'm also working a lot on the cell phone game, which is coming along, still got a while to go, but it's doing well. Darrin's present was supposed to come today, but it didn't. I checked the tracking on UPS and they said that they "missed it and it will go out on the next delivery day". Crazy UPS, they better deliver it tomorrow, planning to go drop it off after work. Oh Yea! I saw and awesome trailer yesterday!!! Now I'm as excited about a movie as Darrin is about Transformers. I just really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really hope that it isn't made stupidly. So the movie is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, woo!!! I really hope it's good. That's about all I can say for now, I'll try to be a little more disciplined when concerning the interesting details of life. Until next time!!

Thunderstorm and Before

Well, yesterday was pretty fun. Did some hw during the day and then around 4 I headed up to Hermosa Beach to hang out with Broo. We had dinner at a place called Hennesey's Tavern, very good caeser salad, heh heh. One highlight was my parking space, I couldn't find any spots so I turned into a grocery store parking lot. They had a sign up that said 2hr Parking for Customers Only. So I went inside Sav-On and bought some gum, payed for parking and got gum out of the deal, lol. It was really fun hanging out and talking about all sorts of stuff, definitly have to do it again sometime. So yea, when I got home I had to finish up some more hw. So I worked on that until about 1ish. Right when I finished I noticed the lightning from my last post. So I go up to bed and open the shutters so I can watch it as I fall asleep. After a while I notice that I can start to hear it. So I realize it's on its way, so I was pretty excited, lightning is awesome. So yea, in about ten minutes it was really close, striking less than a mile away. Unfortunately it left just as fast as it came and I eventually fell asleep. Today was another day of work and school. And now I'm home, and what do ya know, I'm done with the post, lol. So yea, I'm off to bed to get ready for another day of work. Lata.

Short n Kuhl

Well, I just finished some hw and I noticed the lightning flashing outside. But it turned out better than I thought it'd be. My first class is sort of a workshop with the life drawing teacher. The reason it turned out good is because from now on we won't be meeting on Saturday morning any more. He split us up into his regular life drawing class times so we could actually do the workshop with the reference (my third time in a life drawing class). I now will be going to class on Monday from 12:30 - 4:30. So that's pretty good, I don't have to go to school on Saturday until 12:30 now, woo.

The second bit of good news is about the second class (imagine that, lol). The class is 3D Scripting, and I've had the teacher before in Intermediate Scripting. The best part is, he does his class the same way as Intermediate, he lectures for a little bit and then everyone does the lab (which is also the hw). Both are relatively short and don't take too much time, so I will usually be out of there around the halfway mark of the class, another good thing. So it looks like Saturday class wont be so bad after all. The only problem with that class is I can't understand half of what the teacher is saying. He's not quite fluent in English. At least he writes up his lectures in PowerPoint and the labs in Word so it's not so bad, I just read the information instead of trying to listen to him.

So now I'm home, and I believe I'll get to work on a 3D dumpster now for my other Monday class. I have a couple of videos, you can enjoy them here:

Well, hopefully you can tell what's going on. The world seems to change in an instant when you cross over the line, lol. In the fourth one, the waypoints magically appear in front of you because the world loops back around. It was pretty fun taking these videos, took me about fifteen minutes to get to the end of the world too. Luckily if you press V while flying forward you will continue to fly even if you let go of W (forwards). So I was able to walk around while the helicopter went to the end of the world. Other than that, had my first class on Monday, it was pretty good. We will be making a next-gen 2 minute game trailer for a futuristic RPG. Should be a lot of fun, so far my homework is to create a dumpster and some trash cans for our alleyway shot.

I also added a few more photos to flickr from when I went to D-Land a while back. So anyways, I'm off to do something productive now, see ya'll lata.

Sunburn Hurts...

Well, I went paintballing yesterday with a bunch of people, and it was my first time too. I have to admit that it was a lot of fun. The worst thing that hurts for me today is the sunburn on my neck, lol. I do have a few welts and bruises (no more details, I promised, lol), but they don't hurt as much as the sunburn. All in all it was a good day of paintball, but it was very hot out at SC Village in Chino. At the end of the day I realized I hadn't gotten as much water as I should have and developed a painful headache, luckily it went away when I got home and had a nice cool shower. I liked the scenario paintball a lot because of the scenery and different obstacles, but the speedball was more fun because it was just all of the people we came with. It's definitly not a sport I'd want to do every weekend or anything like that, mainly because of the cost. But once in a while is kuhl.

So, tomorrow I start up my 2nd to last quarter of school, oi. I guess that means I will be busy, which in turn means a probability of less posts during these next 11 weeks. So I'll try to keep it up as best as I can, but unfortunately no promises. I'm really not excited for my schedule though, Monday night, Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon, blech. I hope it will be a fast quarter. I guess I should also start working on my demo reel. I feel like such a slacker. I'm not too worried though, for some strange reason, and I think I should be. But who knows, maybe I'll be fine...

Saw Pirates 2 on Thursday night with Darrin, Marianna, and Luis. I'd have to say that it was a very good movie. The ending totally took me by surprise, which I liked a lot (I really enjoy plot twists). So yea, if and when you see it, hope you like it too. So, without further adieu, I'm off to get some last minute work done before tomorrow, have a great end of the weekend everybody.

Flaming Plastic

The rest of my weekend was good, went to Boomer's again, but the real fun started on the 4th of July! Headed over to Darrin's for a BBQ and a night of crazy fun. We had some 151 proof rum, very strong stuff, we lit it on fire multiple times, lol. I also learned a valuable lesson, don't swing your hand underneath a melting plasic bag while it is being held in the air on a lemon picker. I bet that sounds interesting. Yea, if you ever get the chance it's quite fun to listen to, just don't let it drip on your finger, unless you want an instant 3rd degree burn, yessssss. The end of the night started to get a bit hazy, I remember big parts, but not everything inbetween. So yea, needless to say, it was a crazy night. Darrin also has an awesome video of us putting mentos into bottles of soda for a fun volcano-like explosion! Took the day today off from work, needed a good resting day. So yea, going to see Pirates 2 tomorrow night at 11:59, woo hoo. After that my next plans include Paintballing on Saturday, and then no more plans until Monday, which is the first week of summer school quarter, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Darrin, Sam, and I are planning on hopefully taking a roadtrip sometime during this quarter while I'm inbetween class days to the Grand Canyon and other places, hopefully it all works out. Also hopefully the insane glass bridge will be finished by the time we get there:

http://www.ohgizmo.com/2005/10/31/grand-canyon-skywalk-glass-bridge/

If you check out the website make sure to read the description in quotes, I think that thing is definitly safe, lol. So yea, until next time, wiiiiiiiii!

AAAAMMAZING!!!

Well, went mini-golfing last night with Darrin and Adam, twas a really hilarious night. We played mini-golf and two rounds of laser tag, which was really fun. So anyways, we are walking around the arcade games and find one that we can play for free. So while Darrin is playing he realizes his phone is vibrating in his pocket. So he finishes his game and opens it up and sees that he has a missed call from Tim. So he calls Tim back and he tells us what the information is... here goes... crazy news incoming: He PROPOSED to his girlfriend Cierra and she said YES. He is going to get MARRIED in a year and 6 days from TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 wow crazy awesomeness. On Thursday night I played a game which I bought a while ago called Apples to Apples. It's a really fun game (especially for big groups of people). There are red cards and green cards. The red cards are people, places, things etc and each one has a description or information about the subject. The green cards are adjectives. Basically one person is a judge and puts down a green adjective card, and then the other players will choose red cards from their hands and try to pick things that the green card best describes. The judge then decides which one they like the best and whoever won gets a the green card. You play until someone achieves a certain amount of green cards. So, I don't know why, don't ask, but for some reason one of the red cards had the title "Screeching" and its description was "Please stop." and all three of us started cracking up because the green card was the opposite of something that is "Trained". We even had more laughing when we saw the next red card which was "Fresh Water Pearls". Anyways, maybe you had to be there, but it was really freaking hilarious, and all of us were laughing so hard that we were crying, it was awesome. The next night we played a few good board games and card games at Darrin's, no video gaming this time, amazing. Saturday night Darrin and I went down to the PCH and stopped by a Diedrich Coffee and just hung out, afterwards we went over to In-N-Out, and then stopped by Howie's Game Shack. It was mostly just a random going everywhere kind of night.

Saturday was just a relaxing day trying to keep cool. Did a lot of gamin on the PC and Xbox. Today was work. Although it was pretty fun today because I copied some old and new D-Land music from a coworker and listened to that all day. He had stuff like the Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress and Mission to Mars. It was a fun day for nostalgia. Well, now I'm home, enjoying my two weeks left on break. So far plans are to see Superman in IMAX on Wed night this week, see Pirates of the Carribbean 2 on opening night at 12, have a bonfire on the 7th, and do some paintball on the 8th, two days before my next quarter. Other than that I don't have any plans to it'll pretty much be spur of the moment type stuff. Well, I guess that pretty much covers it. But this time I think I'll add a little more just to be random and more interesting.

www.digg.com now requires you to login to view some of their news stories, which really sucks. I really enjoyed their stories and I'm not going to make a stupid login just so I can read them. Let alone the fact that I've gotta login every time I go back. Pretty stupid on their part I believe. I like smoothies. Just thought of that and felt like writing it. I also like frozen margaritas, very good, especially in large quantities, heh heh. Oh yea, just thought of another plan for these last two weeks. July 4th!!! My plans for that night mean I most definitly wont be able to make it to work on July 5th, lol. I also plan to purchase a (probably) imported black ds lite from Europe as well as a Wacom tablet sometime after that. Ok, another switch, Darrin just got his updated paintball gun for the 8th. I guess he now has pictures up on his blog, so I'm gonna go check those out. That's probably a good stopping point for now, enjoy the blog? I hope so, later everybody!!!

Screeching

Please stop.

(I'll explain later)

I'm Still Alive... I think

Well, I'm glad I'm back. This will probably be a moderate post, I'm planning to tell you all about my wonderful weekend (i guess). But first, let's go back to the weekend before, I saw Cars with Darrin and Sam (you might have read something about it in their blogs) but it was a really great movie. I really enjoyed the 3D animation (you have a lot of appreciation when you're an art student). Oh, and there were tons of references to other Pixar works, it was a really great movie. So, now to this weekend. On Friday went over to Darrin's along with Sam and Michael, we played some poker (no money invovled, we're all to cheap), and then eventually moved on to the 360. On Saturday I headed over to school to meet with my group (I know school is done, but we have the opportunity to have our game actually developed by one of the people we presented to in our Senior Project Planning class) to talk about all of the pros and cons. Afterwards I headed over to Darrin's with my computer for a great LAN. We started out with a very long round of X-Plane, a very realistic flight simulator which has the ability to train actual pilots. We did a ton of crazy stuff in that game, such as taking off while tow cabled to another plane, changing the weather mid-flight, and taking off other people's wings. It was quite an interesting expreince. Afterwards we played some good ol' fashined JOE. That was really fun, all we did was screw around in three different maps. Our LAN was pretty much just for screwing around in the games we had, which is always a fun thing to do. Today of course was father's day. My family actually went to D-Land to hang out for half of the day (got there about noon) and we had a fun time riding all of the good stuff. My sister and I paid for most of dinner at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney for Father's and Mother's day (because my dad was sick during Mother's day and we just stayed home). Overall it was a pretty good day, oh, and the best part is that I picked up another Star Tours picture from the Disney Gallery up above Pirates. It looks really awesome, it's the inside of the queue right next to the starship that R2 and C3P0 are working on. There is another picture that is a design sketch of the pilot inside the ride, but I'll save that one for another time. I guess that brings me up to now, I'm home after the fun day, and now I'm going to get some sleep for another work week. I'm just glad I'm finally done with school for three weeks. So, I'll see ya all lata!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://oaktree85.blogspot.com/2006/06/im-still-alive-i-think.html' title='I'm Still Alive... This will most likely be a short post because of my "all nighter" last night to finish my last two finals. I'm planning on getting sleep early tonight so I have enough energy for gaming this weekend. So, I've got three weeks off now and then I go back for another great quarter (second to last, wooo hooo). My first two finals went really well, as did my last two which were today. I might even get another honor or dean's award this quarter depending on what my grades were exactly (which I haven't gotten in a while). So, I've been waiting for the Nintendo DS Lite to come to America in Black. It's going to be out in Europe on the 23rd. One little interesting bit of news here:

Missing Black DS Lites!!!

I hope this doesn't affect any black DS Lites that would come to the US. Oh, and I do believe that we will eventually be recieving them:

Black DS Lites to U.S.?!?!

I'd also like to get a Wacom tablet in the future, I had a lot of fun using it this quarter in my Background Design & Layout class:

Wacom Tablet

Well, like I said, this will be a short post, I'll be sure to write a little more tomorrow for everyone. Until then have a great Thursday night and Friday morning, wiiiii.

Loss of Communication

Well, next week is finals for this quarter, which means I will most likely not have a life from now until it is over. I just wanted everyone to know that you might not see any posts by me for a while. If you do see a post then I am either doing really good on my work, or being stupid and should get back to work, lol. So for now I'm going to get you all up to date so that I don't have as much to say whenever it is that I do get back to this. Let's see, picked up furniture on Sunday, it was really hot. Darrin and I went up to Monrovia and picked up a couch, three chairs, some books, and most importantly, an Atari 5200!!!!! Needless to say we were both really stoked when we saw the Atari. So, on the ride home we were driving along at a nice fast pace and up ahead of us there was a car in our lane about 200 feet in front of us which tried to merge into the lane on its left. Unfortunately there was a car there, and obviously they didn't look before they started merging, so halfway through their merge they swerve back into our lane and lost control. They started spinning and went back to the left and hit the divider, Darrin slowed down immediately and a SUV next to us slowed down with ease. We then hear a really loud squeal as the car behind the SUV slams on it's breaks to stop. Smoke was pouring from its wheels and the car was tilted really far forward, luckily it stopped before it hit the SUV. We then passed the car which had orgininally spun out and hit the divider, it was rolling backwards, sideways across the lanes. So that was an interesting day of driving. When we got back we dropped most of the furniture off at my house and then went back to Darrin's. Once there Sam came over and we all went in the hot tub (with no heat of course) and hung out in the cool water. Once finished we decided to pick lemons from Darrin's lemon tree, but because his tree is right in the middle of a bunch of bushes Sam hit the lemons off with a metal pole and I tried to catch them with the pool cleaning net. Darrin then proceded to pick up his dad from work so we went about our business of getting lemons. We were mostly successful, except for one hit which knocked three lemons off at once, two went into the bushes and the third rolled out of the net and fell into the hot tub. So once we were done picking our lemons we went inside and Sam introduced me to pouring sugar on them and licking it off, making it taste like a lemon candy. When Darrin got back we played some DOA on the 360, and eventually Pinkus came over to play as well. We played that pretty much for the rest of the night. Once we were all tired we went home for the beginning of another week. Monday was pretty good at work, I got a lot of stuff done, lunch was a good Burrito at Baja Fresh, and today was a good day of school. I skipped my first class because we are only working on our finals, so I could work on another final. Which brings me to the reason I will probably be going dark for a while, so until my next post, have a great week (or 2) everybody!!

T3H Deathsquad...

Some of you might have noticed the new link off to the left in the "Other Blogs" section, "T3H Deathsquad". This is a new blog that Sam, Darrin, and I are starting up mainly for technology-related news. I welcome anyone to read it if they feel so inclined, hope you'll enjoy our posts. So, it's really hot today, like mid-90's. I really hate all this heat. My favorite days are the ones that are in the 60-70's. Anyways, I hope everyone else is doing alright out there in this awful weather (in my opinion of course), lol. Well, I'll try to have a great weekend in spite of it. Everybody else, do the same. (That's an order I guess)

Sushi and Burgers

Today was a good day. For lunch a bunch of us from work went to a Sushi place, I'm not really into the raw fish, but I had a California Roll (crab and cucumber) which was really good. It also came with some vegetables and shrimp deep fried in a really good batter. So after work I went home and then got a call from Darrin so I headed over to his house for some good ol 360 gaming. Sam showed up and we played some DOA on the 360, DDR on xbox, and Donkey Konga 2 on GC. By the time we finished it was around 11:30 so we went over to In-N-Out for some food. I brought along "Black", the sqeaky lizard that Sam and I won with our tickets from the other weekend when we went mini-golfing and gaming in the arcade. So now Sam gets to keep him for a while, lol. Once food and hanging out was over I came back home for some sleep. I've gotta meet up with a group member tomorrow for our Senior Project Planning homework. That's pretty much all I have planned for tomorrow. Sunday I'll be picking up some furniture from my Aunt and Uncle's for whenever my friends and I get to finally move into a place together. I think we're getting a couch for sure, maybe a tv, maybe a chair or two, and we'll see about anything else when we get there. So yea, exciting weekend planned, kinda busy sounding I guess. I really wanna hear about Quakecon dates because I really wanna go, but if they keep stalling like this it's gonna be hard to find out if my schedule will allow me to go. I could always just skip a week of school, but I hate doing that with all the make up work and making sure you know what you've missed and stuff. I'll also be in my second to last quarter at school, which puts me in some of the most hard working classes in school, just great. Oh, last weekend, 3 day weekend, very nice. Friday night I went to see X-Men 3 with a bunch of people. If you go see it make sure to stay through the credits, very important. I was kinda dissapointed by it, it was kinda depressing. The end of the credits made it better though. Ummmmmm, let's see I know on Saturday night I went over to Darrin's along with Sam, Adam, and Marianna and we all hung out in Darrin's hot tub for a while. Afterwards Darrin, Sam, and I had a fun time sharing hilarious stories from our youths. Monday was a busy day for me getting a lot of school work done, which paid off. I can't wait for this quarter to be over, just 2 more weeks!!! W007 W007!! Then a nice 3 week break, aaaahhhhhh. Yea, my school has a summer quarter which is sort of a normal part of it, that's why I'll be getting out of school in 3 years instead of 4, with a 4-year degree. I am going over by 1 quarter, but that's ok. I also hope I make it out then, I've gotta get working on my demo reel so I can graduate. So yea, that's about it for now, I'll work on getting another "Links of the Week" posted sometime this weekend or after. So, have a great weekend everybody if I don't blog ya before then, lata!!!

Almost There

Well, it's Thursday night, tomorrow is good old Friday. The best part: Three day weekend!!! Definitly gonna do some gaming and hanging out this weekend (oh, and probably some school work). Oh yes, after my last post Darrin, Sam, and I went mini-golfing over at Boomer's. Hadn't been mini-golfing in a long time and it was very fun, and hilarious. Like the time when the little girl from the family in front of us ran onto our green, picked up Darrin's ball out of the blue, and went back to her family. We all three started cracking up and Darrin had to go over to their family and ask for his ball back. Some other highlights included the time when we all three hit our balls at once and Darrin actually made a hole in one! Anyways it was quite a fun night. The rest of the weekend was blah, just some school work and being lazy around the house. My sister is now home again for the summer after her first year in a dorm room at college. Recently my dad had a visit to the hospital because he has something called Valley Fever. Apparently it is a little dangerous, but he's doing better now and on the road to recovery so good for that. Today was a pretty good day, for the most part. I recently got my quarter review back from school and unfortunately have to work on figure drawing. That shouldn't be too bad though, I think I can easily get that up to speed with a little practice. The drive home was great though. On the way home I glanced to my right at a car next to me and at the same time the girl driving did the same thing. We both sort of smiled at the same time and then started laughing. For the rest of the time we were on the freeway together I kept my car next to her's. Unfortunately she had an offramp before I did, but she did look over waved goodbye at the end. It was a very funny drive home, best one probably ever. Well, that's my story for tonight. I'll probably be back this weekend to talk about the next interesting thing in my life. Until then, later all!

Woo7 Woo7 Weekend!!

Yay for the weekend! I'm happy it's the weekend, this week was quite busy for me at school and work. I had a progress review at school due on Thursday and was rushing like crazy to finish it up on Wednesday night. I eventually finished it around 12, but then had to proceed with getting my regular homework out of the way, which put me up until about 4:30. That left me with only 2 hrs of sleep, joy. I wasn't very happy at 6:30. Well, somehow I got through the day and went to bed really early last night. Still a bit tired, but feeling better nontheless because it is the weekend, woo hoo!!! This week at work was quite interesting regarding stuff about stuff at work (read Xp-ert's post if you're interested). I've been following the progress on a game I'm really excited about, Supreme Commander. It's scheduled to come out the beginning of next year, I can't wait for it.

www.supremecommander.com - for those of you interested

This weekend I have nothing planned so far, I'll probably end up doing some school work and relaxing. I'm really hoping to get at least one great night of sleep this weekend, lol. Oh yea, another big piece of info. My sister's first year of college is up and she's coming home for the summer, great, lol. Oh, and she'll be working at the same place as I starting the 1st of June, craziness. I feel like there's something I'm forgetting to talk about but I can't remember. I had an interesting dream last night that I was a creature from the game Spore. That was interesting, but not the thing I think I'm forgetting.

http://www.spore.com/ - really awesome!

Let's see, oh, I have two quarters of school left after this one ends!!! I'm really excited about that. I can't wait to finish up school and finally enter into the game industry. I think that's what I wanted to say, yessssss. I'm hoping to get a Nintendo DS Lite this coming June 11th. I'm also planning to get a Nintendo Wii (sounds like wee) when it comes out later this year! I really believe that if it works the way Nintento says it will that it will revolutionalize gaming. I also believe that it will be the game console for almost everyone, not just for big gamers.

http://wii.nintendo.com/home.html - Wiiiiiiiii

I might be doing something later on tonight if Darrin and Sam are up for it. Well, I guess that's about it for me. We played some Quake 4, Bontago, and Battlefield 1942. Overall it was a pretty fun night of fragging. Now I have to get to my homework, I've got two major things to do this weekend, get my portfolio review created for school to review my progress, and work on the pitch packet for Senior Project Planning to show the teacher and group that I've been working on it. So that concludes this short blog, enjoy the comic, and have a good day.

Busy Busy Busy

What a busy weekend it was for me. So was the week for that matter, it was midterms, but now they are over, woo7 woo7. On to Friday. Went to Disneyland with my sister and a couple of her friends for about two hours on Friday. It was pretty fun hanging out and then I finally saw her dorm when I dropped them off at her school. After that I went over to Darrin's and played some games until about 3:30. I really didn't have the energy to drive back home and believed that if I tried I would end up crashing into something. So instead I crashed at Darrin's on their couch (much better place to crash). Woke up the next morning and texted Darrin to remind him I was still at his house (apparently he forgot when first waking up). We then headed up to Fry's to get some B-Day presents for Sam (Birthday on Sunday). I got him Black and White 2 and Darrin proceeded to get Neverwinter Nights to hopefully cure Sam's urge to play WoW (life sucker). Hopefully those two games will keep him entertained for a while. After Fry's we were hungry so we went over to Philly's Best for some good food. I had their Pizza thing for the first time and it was really good. Now I know what to get from now on. We then went over to Sears to say hello to Darrin's dad and get some input about some stuff. Back to Darrin's we went, where I tried a little bit of American McGee's Alice PC game. It was really awesome so I got a burned DVD with the game on it. I then went home and installed the game myself to play a bit, haha, ended up playing till 1AM (bad thing, I really would have liked some more sleep). So I woke up the next morning and did some of that homework stuff, and then a little Alice before 12:45 rolled around and I went over to Sam's house for his birthday party thingy. Sam opened his presents (mind was wrapped in about three layers of heavy duty packaging tape. In the process of cutting it off he accidentally cut the box a bit, but it will just remind him of my excellent wrapping job. We then played some GameCube and 360 which was pretty fun. Afterwards Darrin had to leave, but Sam and I went over to his grandparent's house to have some really good cake and look at the newspaper from the day Sam was born (haha, lot's of death and violence in the newspaper on that day for some reason). Before we left I was invited to see his grandpa's garage. It was pretty much filled with clocks all over the walls, a very neat sight. Eventually we headed back to Sam's and I proceeded to go home, where I finished Alice! It was a really awesome game, I loved the textures and level design a lot. I'm really glad I finished it because I didn't have enough time to spend beating another game while the week came around with homework and such. Anyways, that was my very busy week, this wiik will suck though. It's E3, supposedly going to be the best in a long time. As I've mentioned before, a lot of great stuff will be there, I'm really bummed that I can't make it this year. Oh well, hopefully I'll keep up to date with IGN! Well, I'm outta here, hope you enjoyed this entertaining way to do nothing!

Links of the Week version Whatever

http://www.ign.com/e3/2006/

http://www.flickr.com/

http://www.pizzahut.com/menu/

http://www.quakecon.org/

http://www.hot-dog.org/

Sh*t Happens

Well, I haven't been here in a while, it's nice to be back for what little time i spend tonight blogging. So anyways, watched Forest Gump on TV the other night, hence the blog title. But it also applies to some of the stuff coming up in the world. See, next week is this crazy little shindig called E3. Let's see what kuhl stuff will be there this year, in order of importance for me, Supreme Commander, Nintendo Wii + Controllers + Innovative New Games, ET:QW, Crysis, UT2k7, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (shown on IGN), Halo 3 video, DOAX2, Lego Star Wars II, C&C3 ... ok, there are really a lot more awesome looking titles that I just don't have the room to put into this blog. Lemme just say that unfortunately this year my school isn't getting us in. Lemme also just say that I'm a little mad. So, hopefully, with Darrin's help, we will keep updated all next week as to every bit of detail we can hear since we wont be attending this awesome event. I honestly wish that last year we could have skipped and gone this year instead. I guess I'll move on from this topic though. I recently finished the story for Lego Star Wars I. It was really fun, now I can go back and get the extra stuff. There really isn't too much left, I've already worked at it pretty well. Dinner tonight was really good, pizza and buffalo wings, just for everyone's random information. Going back to the subject of E3, I can't wait for the first year I'm actually working at a game company and get to go for free as an exhibitor. That will be awesome!! As for now i really need to stop looking at the list of stuff that's going to be there, it's making me go crazy. I just finished midterms at school, those were pretty easy this time around. Very excited about graduating in 2 more quarters. I'm sorta looking forward to it now, gettin tired of school, but before then I have to jump one last very big hurdle, my demo reel. Good luck to me. Oooooo, Sunday is Sam's b-day, so I think we'll be doing something, sounds like fun, I'll probably have to get my hw for next week done on Sat then. Oh, and I think my last post was before Casey went back to Hawaii, so yea, she's back on her boat now, parking at the islands. Tomorrow is casual day at work (my mind is jumping everywhere in case you didn't notice). Oh yea, and last weekend on Saturday we had a miniLAN here + house meeting. We played COD2 (very fun), Q4 (also very fun), and GRAW (not so much fun on PC). Oh, and I can't wait for this Quakecon event. I really hope it doesn't conflict with my school schedule over the summer too bad. Anyways, that's about enough of that, I'm gonna let you all get back to your lives now, you probably have been reading for a while, so shoo, go do something interesting, I know I'll try.

t3h w33k3nd

Friday was awesome! Went to see Silent Hill with Darrin and Casey, such an awesome movie, really freakin' crazy, but good at the same time. Now I'm in the mood for playing some "Alone in the Dark" PC game. I played it a while ago and never finished it. I also am playing some Lego Star Wars right now, which is a really fun game. Anyways, that was the start of Friday night. Afterwards we went over to Ralphs for some provisions for Adam's house. We then proceded there and had a really interesting night. Let's just say I was crazy the whole time. It was quite a night. Saturday was my grandparent's anniversary party. My whole family was at my house and we had a fun time hanging out and playing games (my cousins and I). Sunday I did some hw and then headed over to Darrin's to hang out. Got to play some of GRAW single player on the 360, it is a really fun game, awesome visuals, but pretty tough. Stupid tank. Darrin's dad, Darrin, and I played some poker, Darrin ultimately won. Then I bought some new RAM for my computer, woooooot. I can't wait for that to arrive, should be here soon, either tomorrow or Thursday!! Speaking of tomorrow, at 2 during work is our April B-Day celebration, weeee, that means me, and I don't know if anyone else is included in that. That will be exciting, cake and ice cream around the design table. So anyways, Supreme Commander had a new official site up at Gas Powered Games! So far it looks really awesome, I can't wait for that to come out next year. Darrin and I are really mad that we're missing E3 this year. A lot of great stuff is going to be there this year and we wont be. Blaarggh! Quakecon will be fun, if I can go that is. Sounds like it would be a long time away from school, especially if we do a small road trip back. It would be my second to last quarter, with some very important classes. I guess it all depends on when, where, and all the info like that. Oh, and some of you probably already know, but if you don't, then Casey and I are not together anymore, but we are still really good friends, which is a good thing. I guess I'll be in the single life for a while, wee i guess. Alrighty, that's about enough of that. And it's also about enough of this blog, hope you enjoyed, lata all!

Friday

I wish it was Friday, unfortunately it's Thursday morning and I'm at school. Yesterday was the first day I've worked with Darrin in a long time. It's nice having someone to talk to about games and current technology and what not. Tomorrow I'll be back at work, but at least Fridays are only till 3. The real fun starts after work. Darrin and I are going to Adam's house (a friend from In-N-Out) to have a fun night. I'm excited for that. But today is school, and speaking of which, I've recently found something relaxing in art. My background design and layout class uses a Wacom Tablet to paint in Photoshop. Somehow when I'm painting I just get really into it and feel like I could go on for hours. Actually I have, last night I was up till 12 painting before I realized that I had another piece of homework to finish. I'm really thinking about buying a Wacom Tablet now. For any of you interested, this is what a Wacom Tablet is:

http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/intuos.cfm

I know I haven't put any Links of the Week in for a while, but I think it'll be coming soon, maybe even today if I get around to it. Thanks for reading!

Blogger Blog

Hey, haven't been here in a long while. Too much has happend to even try to write it all. Since the last time I wrote I've worked, gone back to new school quarter. Classes are Tuesday 7:30-11:30, 12:30-4:30, and Thursday 7:30-11:30, 12:30-4:30. I have one less class than last quarter, which will be nice so I can focus on the four I have instead. Oh, and I guess it's kinda major that I turned 21 on April 8th!!! It was a real great day, in the morning I went to Mimi's Cafe with my family and had a Mimosa (Champagne and Orance Juice), and that evening I went to Hooters with friends. Afterwards I went to Darrin's with Sam and Darrin and we played some DOA4 and watched Kung Pow (weeeeoooooweeeeoooooooo). The rest of the week was just school and work, nothing really interesting. This last weekend though was the present from my parents. They took Casey and I to Las Vegas for the weekend, since 21 is a big deal and all. It was really fun, we looked at all the casinos, drank some good drinks in bars, ate good food, and did a little gambling. I now know a few drinks that I like, for one I like margaritas a lot, then there's this drink called a Colorado Bulldog and a shot called a Mudslide, which is strong but mostly good, just as long as you don't have too much of it. The best drink was probably this margarita from La Salsa. It came in a really sweet plastic thing that is supposedly a yard long. It was really good and I felt really funny afterwards. Then Casey and I went on a roller coaster in front of one of the hotel-casinos. Another great experience was a Star Trek thingy at the Hilton. It was really well done and very neat, it made you feel like you were a part of the action. Afterwards we went to the bar there and had a really awesome drink with dry ice in it. A picture will be hyperlinked at the bottom of this post. I did gamble a couple of times, I put quarters in slot machines here and there, and actually did really good at a Star Wars themed one. It was really fun, I started with a dollar and eventually got up to five before I stopped. Then on the way home we stopped at a casino right on the border of California and Nevada to eat at where I tried my hand a Blackjack. I did moderately ok at it, but still lost nine bucks out of the fifteen I started with. It was still a fun experience, and maybe another time I can try again. We stayed at the Luxor, cuz Casey didn't have a preference and I like Egyptian stuff so that was the verdict. On the way to Las Vegas we stopped in Barstow, and I had forgotton until I saw the sign that it was the location of the largest In-N-Out. This is the same place that Darrin, Sam, Paul, and I stopped at on our way home from Road Trip 2K4. It was busier this time, I think they had all four grills going. Anyways, the trip was really fun. Now we're home and I've gotta do something for class tomorrow, so it's back to the world of responsibility. Oh yea, really great news, Darrin got a job at my company as the "computer guy", lol. It's gonna be quite interestingly fun working with him again. So I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work on Wednesday. Well, that's all the news I have for now, until next time (hopefully it wont be as long of a break in-between), later everyone!

Links:
http://www.startrekexp.com/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/72338838@N00/130501183/ -- The drink we shared!!

Nope

Hello everyone, I know that you might have been waiting for a post about what's been going on in my life, but this isn't it. This last weekend Casey and I went to her grandparents on Saturday and I met almost her whole mom's side of the family. It was almost really overwhelming. She has a lot of relatives, and that was just her mom's side. They were all really kuhl and it was fun meeting all of them. Her grandparents were really nice also. After hanging out there we went over to her brother's house and hung out there again. Her brother is really kuhl and everyone in her family seems to be kuhl with me. Sunday Casey and I watched King Kong on DVD in the morning. Then we went to my grandparents and ate lunch. After that we went over to my Aunt and Uncle's to hang out for a while and say hi. Eventually we got back home that night and I reformatted Casey's new laptop. Yesterday was another Monday at work, whoopie. Today, though, was my first two classes of this quarter. So far I think it will be a really good quarter. For starters, I only have four classes this time instead of five. My first class is going to be easy and fun at the same time. Our Final is a project about anything in After Effects and I was thinking already about doing something to the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" song. I was thinking of some of the fun things I could do with that. My second class is Senior Project Planning, our class is split up into two groups and we are creating one presentation for the entire class. Each group is coming up with an idea for a game and will pitch it to some people who are actually from the game industry. Tomorrow I will be going to my grandparents in San Deigo with Casey for lunch and hanging out with her all day. Other than that I have two more classes on Thursday. Friday I get a haircut, woo, well, that's about it for me. Oh, and for those of you interested I'm almost 21. Saturday!!! Lata everybody!

Pretty!!!

Wow, very pretty, I suggest everybody to download these videos and check out the next version of CryEngine. Let's see, where did I leave off??.. (going to current version of blog)... Well, It was quite an eventful weekend. After my last post Darrin and I went to Foothill Regal and saw Firewall which was really good. It had many geek stuff in it, even though Darrin found some things that wouldn't work. But I liked it cuz I'm not as knowledgable about all of that comuter stuff. Casey came home at 8:00 on Saturday!! It was great, I finally met her Mom, and two of her brothers, along with her nephew. Everyone caught up on a lot of information and my parents met everyone. After waiting for Casey's bags she and I went over to her mom's house and visited with her relatives. They are all really kuhl. After a while we came back here and slept until 9:00 Sunday. We woke up and went over to Darrin's to go to Portillos (Which by the way, Casey's Sister-In-Law Works). When we first got to Darrin's we didn't think he was there because his dad had taken his car to work, and he got the truck for the ride up to Portillos. So we stood outside his house for like fifteen minutes waiting around until he came to the screen door and said we were stupid, lol. Eventually we got to Portillos up in Buena Park, a couple of blocks away from Knott's. I have to admit that it was reallly good food, I had the Beef n Cheddar Croissant, delicious. Gonna go more often from now on, especially since Casey's Brother lives about five minutes away from it, and her sister-in-law works there. When we were leaving we totally had a strange experience, Darrin's dad's truck seemed to have shrunk or something because we couldn't remember ever seeing the top, which we could easily do. It was very strange. Anyways, that brings me to my next piece of news. After Portillos Casey and I went over to her brother's house and hung out there for the rest of the night for a BBQ. Her mom and aunt came over and we all had hamburgers and chicken. It was really good food. We watched some of the Blue Collar Comedy Show on Comedy Central and had an awesome time. When it ended we decided to head home and said goodbye to everyone. Monday was yesterday, It was very tiring at work, when I got home I watched Wallace and Gromit with Casey and then some TV just to keep things restful. Today was pretty kuhl because it rained. My cousin, Casey, and I were going to go to Disneyland but luckily it didn't work out with my cousin's schedule so we will be going Thursday instead. Sam will probably join us which will be fun, and if anyone else is up for it you're welcome to come along. Just give me a ring. Casey and my mom came up to work today and met my dad and I for lunch at In-N-Out, always good food. Now I'm home, and probably gonna rest a bit, eat, and do whatever. That was pretty long, hope you all enjoyed it, talk to ya lata everybody.

Crap

Yes, crap, two hours of work to go and I'm too tired and can't seem to concentrate. They seem to be getting longer as time goes by. Luckily I only have three left. It was a tough quarter but I made it. I was thinking the other day about the trip up to Big Bear with Tim, Darrin, and Sam. That was the very first week of this quarter and it seems like so long ago... so, yesterday I went over to Darrin's and we played some games in celebration of my last final complete. It was some good times man. When I got home I realized that I had all of the stuff from this quarter on my floor, cuz I was too lazy to organize it while doing all of the work. So I put it all in nice neat places, like drawers and stuff where my other school work is. My room is pretty clean now, it makes me feel more relaxed. I'll probably be doing those darn taxes this week during my break from school. But for the rest of the time (xcept for Tuesday if you read one of my earlier posts) I'll be free on weeknights and the weekends. Work will be until 5:30, but that isn't that late. And Friday it's 3:00. I don't know why I'm talking about all of this, I should go sleep or something seeing as how I'm really tired right now. But hey, I'm crazy like that. Maybe I'll watch a movie and see if anyone is up for anything later on. Oh yea, I'll probably play games during this break, makes sense and all, since I like them and such. Going to Portillos (A Chicago style restaraunt) on Sunday. That will be fun. Yea, I'm gonna go hit up that movie or game or something now, later everyone!

Links of the Week v4

Links

http://cars.ign.com/articles/685/685442p1.html - I wouldn't mind having one of these someday.

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/696/696790p1.html

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/peanutbutter.html

http://www.slizone.com/page/home.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-DnK-d_sp0 - awesome!

Random Link:

http://www.e3expo.com/

Fun Friday!

Let me start off by saying that Friday was an awesome LAN party in Darrin's garage. We played a large assortment of games, including COD2, TA, EAW, and Darrin brought out his large HDTV where we played 360 games, including DOA4, and PGR3. There were many other things going on that I didn't have the time to join in because it was such a busy gaming night. When I first heard that we were having around 20 people in Darrin's garage I didn't think it could be done. Well, we only had about 16 people at the most and we were luckily able to fit in some miraculous way. I got a few things from the LAN, including a nice shirt for winning a match of DOA4. Anyways, Saturday and Sunday were pretty laid back. I watched a World War II video from my grandparents on Saturday and had to install B-17G Flying Fortress to cure an itch for shooting stuff down and bombing harbors. I did that for the most part of Saturday and Sunday. This week is finals, really happy about that, except for the part that I have to finish one of them that is due on Wed. I think I'll be able to get it done, it'll just be a little bit of work, which sucks cuz I'm already tired at 6PM right now. Casey will be back at 8:30PM next Saturday the 25th. Can't wait to see her. Next Tuesday I'll be going to Disneyland with her, my cousin and my cousin's bf. That will be pretty fun cuz I haven't hung out with her in a long time (both Casey and my cousin). Well, that's about all that happened this weekend. Links of the week up next.

Totally Awesome!!!

Now this is totally awesome!!! Where to start... I guess I could go to Friday night when Darrin and I went over to In-N-Out for Matt's first closing night. We both took our laptops and set up a very miniLAN in the dining room of In-N-Out 170!!! It was totally awesome. We played a space battle of Empire at War, where I defeated Darrin. It was my revenge for the first time we played where he beat me. I have to admit that I rocked him pretty bad, but that's all I'm gonna say, wont make him relive those poor decisions again. After that we played a round of Bontago, that was until both our computers started to lag like crazy. After about ten minutes we were just clicking the mouse because there was nothing else you could do. While we were there setting up there was a flash of lightning (which Darrin thought at first was someone taking our picture) afterwhich it started to hail heavily, then rain, then it stopped. That brings me to the weather of this weekend! Totally an awesome weekend for the weather. It hailed twice, at least at my house, afterwards our grass actually looked a little frosty, almost like it snowed, it was pretty sweet. I had to return a book the library that day and on my way back I was driving through a wet street, but the sun was shining on it. All of the cars in front of me were spraying up water, but the coolest part was that the sun was putting rainbows in it. It totally looked like the cars had rainbows coming out of their tires. It was really neat, I was like "whoa". When I got home, around 3:30 I could actually see my breath outside, which is very rare here in SoCal. Which explains why it hailed like twice. Oh, and with the snow/hail in our yard I made a snow/hail ball and threw it at my car door, that was fun. One last thing to mention is that I played all of the way through the game Far Cry. It was really well done, especially the landscape and environments. Very pretty game, and fun, you could drive many of the vehicles all over the maps, like boats, buggies, and humvees. It had very nice textures and graphics also, especially the second-to-last level with lava. I also am 85-90% sure that my game problems had come from the RAM. I will need to conduct a little more testing, but I've had Darrin's RAM for a while now and have had none of the problems that I used to. So I'm kind of happy because now the problem is probably found. I have been thinking of getting some gaming RAM from OCZ. Anyways, that's all for the happenings this weekend, later all. I added a link to my "Links of the Week v3" from the first post. Oh, and check out these screens from SupCom, even I hadn't seen some of these yet:

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/supremecommander/
screenindex.html

Links of the Week v3

Links:

http://gear.ign.com/articles/694/694783p1.html

http://revolution.ign.com/articles/693/693243p1.html

http://www.imperialassault.com/rote/

http://www.yosemite.org/vryos/

http://www.jeux-strategie.com/upload/js/Terran_Submarine_
Aircraft_Carrier.jpg - Design idea of a Submarine Aircraft Carrier for SupCom, no joke!!

Random Link:

http://www.unclaimedbaggage.com/interestingstuff.html

Tropical!!

TGIF! Today is awesome so far, and it will be better later. A crazy weather anomaly happened today, at least for california. At 12 I went to lunch with a few people from work, and it was really cold and cloudy. Then around 12:30 it started to rain while we were at Baja Fresh. A few seconds into the rain and it started to hail lightly, which is a little rare here in SoCal. A few seconds after that and the light hail went away and next was a heavy rain downpour. After about 15 minutes of that it virtually cleared in another minute and the sun started to come out. By the time we were done with lunch and walked back to the car the rain on the ground was visually evaporating into the air. We could actually see the water steaming back into the air from the asphalt. By the time we got back to work the sky overhead was almost cloudless. The horizon was cloudy, but overhead it was pretty clear. It reminded me strongly of Hawaii, which is awesome. Basically it was a really awesome, and interesting, lunch hour. Later on tonight will be really fun because Darrin and I are going to harass Matt at his first Friday night closing at In-N-Out!!!

Title:

So, I was in class tonight and apparently the culinary students were having a project in the foyer of the school. My class is really laid back so we spent some time out in the foyer where the culinary students were serving food, yummy. The best part was the virgin margaritas that one table had. I got one, and the best part was getting to keep the margarita cup. I got a yellow one, woo. I guess that's the interesting blog for tonight.

It's Alive!!!

Well, I tried the Photomerge and It Worked!!! Basically it will automatically create a panorama for you out of pictures. This is going to be really fun to try because on Road Trip 2K4 we took 360 images of our campsites. I can't wait to get home and give it a test. I'm basically writing this so I don't forget to do it. I'll let you know how it went.

Blog blog blog

Well, this last weekend was really fun. Let's see, Friday I went over to Darrin's and we had a good round of 360 gaming. PGR3, COD2, DOA4, and PDZ. The best was PDZ because we found a map with jetpacks which were both fun and hilarious at the same time. Especially if you had the sniper and were watching someone walk around while in x-ray mode. (Most people probably wont understand what I just said, so just let your imagination run wild because I don't feel like explaining.) Saturday evening was really fun, it was Somebody's surprise b-day party up the hill from my house. Darrin came over, and to hide our cars we left them at my house and failed miserably at trying to run up the hill to the house. By the time we got there we were exhausted (need more exercise). The party was really fun, I wrapped Somebody's present entirely in box packing tape. We ate pizza, drank sodas, and played Twister while Darrin connected to a wireless network and dowloaded music on his military-grade laptop. It was a great time. Somebody got to run over his laptop with his new car and it is still alive, although with a little screen problem which will hopefully be fixable so I hear. Darrin and I decided to get a ride back down the hill with Sam, who has a truck. Darrin rode in the bed, which looked like a blast. Anyways, Sunday was going to be Shushi day. That was until both places were closed for lunch, instead we went to a great mexican place by Darrin's house. This group included Darrin, Dan, Pheng, and Louis. Afterwards Darrin, Pheng, Dan, and I went to Xpert's for some 360 fun, played COD2, PDZ, and DOA4. Overall I'd say this was another weekend well spent. Empire at War is still being good to me. Played some online matches, won 2 out of 3 so far. 3rd was really close, but unfortunatley my opponent blew my space station like 30 seconds before I got his for an advantage. Oh well, more practice to come later. Can't wait for the 17th, looking forward to a good LAN at Darrin's. Casey comes home on the 25th, that will be exciting, can't wait to hang out with her. And with that, I say I've done enough talking.

W A T E R we doing?

Wooooooooot, it's raining, awesome. Rain is sweet. So was this weekend. Tim, Sam, and I went to the movies on Fri night and saw The Matador. It was a very, ahem... INTERESTING movie. I'd say that half of it was really funny. The other half was slow and a little uncomfortable. Overall it was still fun cuz we made fun of it after anyways. Saturday was an awesome day where I completed the whole Empire at War, Empire Campagin. It was really awesome. I got a great screenshot which I'm going to post on flickr off to the right. At the end my fleet consisted of almost 40 of every type of space unit. My last battle was comprised of entirely Imperial Star Destroyers (the largest). I was very happy because part of the mission was to destroy the last 5 remaining planets in the campaign with the Death Star. So on to Sunday. Apparently it was ski week back East so everyone and their mother apparently came out and went to Disneyland. Sam and I were thinking about going but then we got the tip off about the super-crowds and decided not to. Instead Sam, Michael, and I had an old school gaming party. We played some SNES, including Mario Kart, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Gradius III. Afterwards we had a really fun Total Annihilation round against two moderate AI's. I'd say it was great being able to play some old stuff again, finally got that out of my system because of all the music from Darrin. Well, that's about it for now, I'll be back later with more exciting news!

Excellent Listening

Well, for the past few days I have been listening to nothing but game music, which I got thanks to Darrin. Got a combo of Mario, Tetris, and Zelda remix's. They are all really sweet, especially the Super Mario World and Tetris music. I'm really in the mood for going through a whole game of Super Mario World in one sitting now. Unfortunately I still have to play Empire at War, which I think will come first. Anyways, it's really fun listening to this stuff since it brings back great memories of defeating each koopa boss for the first time or getting a really high score while simultaniously contemplating your next block position. Can't wait to get some old school gaming in later on.

Links of the Week v2

Links:

http://games.ign.com/articles/688/688300p1.html

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/690/690332p1.html

http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20060222

http://www.eve-online.com/

Random Link:

http://www.google.com/doodle11.html

It's Been Awhile

Yea, sorry 'bout that. But here I am, writing a very interesting post. Since my last post there have been many updates in the world of Jon. First off, I bought Empire at War which is a really awesome game, as long as your a Star Wars fan that is. Played one multiplayer map in space with Darrin and it was really sweet watching everything shoot at each other. Afterwards I started a campaign with a lot of credits and created a Death Star!!! It was awesome, I destroyed two rebel planets and almost a third when it crashed, baaahhh. Which brings me to my next update, computer is being more than annoying at the moment. I'm going to be trying Darrin's RAM soon and with any luck it will work, but I'll have to wait until Thursday or Friday for that. Too much homework to do tonight for tomorrow. Sunday was really fun, went to Sam's house for a miniLAN. It was really fun, we played some Bontago, UT2k4, and tried to play Empire at War with no luck because of their virtual drive detection. Hopefully in the future we can get that working, or they could just go buy the game (which I don't think will happen). Yesterday sucked, during school I started to get a headache which I had to deal with until I was able to go home and get some medicine. It sucked even more because I wasn't able to get any of the homework for tomorrow done, which means I'll be doing EVERYTHING tonight. Hopefully we get out of class tonight early so I can go home and get that done. Talked to Casey today, which was really nice. It's always a pleasure to hear from her and how she's doing. She'll probably read this post next time she goes on the net. Oh, and if you have a little time click on the link to your left called "Sam's Two Cents" and check out his post entitled "Wow" Click on that link and you'll see a really awesome screen where you use two hands to perform a various computer-related tasks. Anyways, that's about it for now. Our WoW game lasted until about 3 on Friday night. Saturday was a fun day of gaming in BF2 where I finally recieved my Valorous Unit Ribbon. On Sunday after church I went over to Darrin's and we went over to the game shop in the mall because they are having a closing sale where everything is 50% off. I got the Star Wars Miniatures game, it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun when I get more characters. I also ordered the starter set and it should be here in 5 to 8 days of Sunday. Sam eventually came over and we watched Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. It was really comical. Darrin had my comptuer on Monday and took it to work because it's still acting retarded. We thought it worked but last night it went crazy so now we're going to have to try to replace the motherboard. I really hope this works. Today was really interesting, as soon as I got back from lunch we had two small "Brown Outs" where the power went out for about 5 seconds. That was fun. Right now I have a very interesting thing I'm observing. I have Google Earth open and I'm looking at John Wayne Airport. At the Northern end of the main runway there is a blue plane, behind it is a white plane, but just in front of that is a smudge, in the outline of a plane. It seems that the image has been tampered with. Kind of intriguing, I wonder if the plane was important or just something they wanted to look different, in any case it's very kuhl to see the outline of an invisible plane. Anwyas, three day weekend coming up with a lan at Sam's house (hopefully my comptuer will work by then). Back to work for me.

Links of the Week

Links for the week. It's actually pretty simple when you hear the explaination. Yesterday is pretty much what it sums up to. Well, I had a three month review yesterday and received a raise, woohoo. That was pretty kuhl, it kicked off a pretty good day at 8:00. Anyways, after work I went over to school and had two classes, my second was sculpture for animation. It was midterms week so my midterm was a head and shoulder sculpture of MasterChief from Halo, it was moderately nice looking. So for our final we are doing a full body and for this one I'm going to sculpt Yoda. The best part about it is that in the four hours of class I created almost half of the model already. We still have five more weeks to work on it, kind of funny, but it looks really awesome. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. So after school I call up Darrin and he invites me over to check out the new World of Warcraft Board Game we are going to play tonight. It looks pretty fun and I think it will be great when we actually play. Anyways, we set up everything for a mock up to see how the game goes and to go over the rules. Just like the computer game, it is a long set of rules. It's even very simplified. So yea, I arrived at his house around 10 and we read the rules until about 1. We even skipped the combat (the largest topic in the rules by far) and waited to read those tonight so everyone can make sure they know how to fight. The rest of the stuff we are going to explain so it goes by faster. Anyways, I sort of regret doing that because I am tired at the moment and are trying to work. Wish me luck.

A Death Star!?!

So, don't know if anybody has seen this, but on Penny Arcade it mentions that Star Wars: Empire at War is now being released on the fifteenth. Let's see, not much in the way of the week, but the weekend was pretty fun. Friday I hurried over to Darrin's with Tim and Sam and we all played some Donkey Konga 2. Darrin finally got two more bongos so it was really hilarious when we all started going crazy, especially on Trepak. After a while of playing we started getting tired so we eventually found new ways of playing, such as with our heads and mouths (for the clapping). We then decided we'd had enough of Donkey so we decided to switch over to the 360 for some DoA 4. Tim had to leave at that moment so it was just Sam and I against Darrin. Last time we played Sam and I had little trouble winning some of the matches. Let's just say that Darrin has practiced since then and totally beat us down this time. There were a few occasional wins on our part, but for most of the time we didn't see our characters standing at the end of the round. We all had a lot of fun nonetheless, but it eventually turned into food time. That was at 12 something. We decided to head to Denny's where they took an exceptionally long time getting our food. But that was okay because we had a lot of fun thinking of ideas for a Donkey Konga game where you became electrocuted every time you hit the wrong note. Eventually we got our food and finished our Dinner, or Breakfast, or whatever it was around 1:00. That pretty much ended my Friday. The next day I proceeded to stay in game mode and ignored homework by playing and finishing Star Wars Republic Commando (which took almost all day). I don't know why it got bad reviews, it seemed like a pretty entertaining game to me, but oh well. After that I did some eating, watched The Bourne Supremacy on TV and continued the games with some rounds of BF2. Bed time after that. Sunday was a laid back day, with some homework inbetween. My parents went to a family Superbowl party and I was going to join after I finished. Unfortunately right before I was going to leave they called and said they were on their way home. The game wasn't over, but they aren't really big Superbowl fans anyway. So I stayed home and watched the third quarter and half of the fourth. I then decided the game was the Steelers and went to play some more BF2, yes a very addicting game. I can't wait to get my veteran knife badge. I also want my expert Spec Ops and explosives badges. I also want two more ribbons and the next rank and I will be content with ending it anytime after that. I need to also start playing some more Special Forces sometime. Anyways, when more BF2 was done on Sunday night I did a little more in the way of homework and proceeded to bed. Here I am today on Monday at the end of a long day of work getting ready to head home and do homework, hopefully ending up with a little more BF2 time after that, lol.
